The Opportunity:
Our established private ophthalmology practice in the Pittsburgh area is seeking a part-time OR full-time, Board Certified Ophthalmologist to join our collaborative and patient-focused team! The practice is supported by two Ophthalmologists, three Optometrists, and a highly experienced clinical and administrative staff, creating a strong foundation for high-quality patient care. This opportunity offers immediate access to a well-established patient base and the chance to contribute to the continued growth of a respected, community-centered practice. The ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic, excellent communication abilities, calm bedside manner, and advanced surgical skills. This physician will be dedicated to both delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the continued growth of the practice. The position offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with no evening or weekend responsibilities, with services provided in-office and at affiliated surgical facilities.
This opportunity has become available due to a physician relocating for family reasons, along with the practice’s ongoing expansion. The incoming Ophthalmologist will join a welcoming, supportive environment that places a strong emphasis on positive work culture and team collaboration.
Our recently renovated office is designed to provide a cutting-edge patient experience and is equipped with a fully functional procedure room, including a surgical microscope and advanced surgical lighting. Physicians have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technology, including an IOL Master, Zeiss OCT, Zeiss Visual Field Analyzer, Optos imaging, Nidek OPD II Topography, as well as YAG and SLT lasers and aesthetic radio frequency equipment.
The practice is further supported by a highly skilled team of technicians and experienced scribes, ensuring efficient workflow and allowing physicians to focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive ophthalmic care, including diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions and ocular diseases
- Perform routine and medical eye examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
- Communicate effectively with staff to ensure a flawless patient experience
- Conduct surgical procedures (e.g., cataract surgery) and/or in-office procedures, depending on training and interest
- Deliver pre-operative care (and post-operative care when appropriate) for surgical patients
- Collaborate closely with referring providers, optometrists, and other clinical staff to ensure continuity and high quality of care
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within our electronic health record system and billing/coding
