The Division of Nuclear Medicine within the Department of Radiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dual board-certified/board-eligible Nuclear Medicine Physician and Diagnostic Radiologist or a board-certified Diagnostic Radiologist with fellowship training (or CAQ eligibility) in Nuclear Medicine to join our growing academic practice.
Qualified candidates must hold an M.D. (or equivalent), be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine (ABNM) and/or the American Board of Radiology (ABR) with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Nuclear Medicine and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arkansas.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in:
- PET/CT and general nuclear medicine
- Cardiac nuclear imaging
- Targeted radionuclide therapies (theranostics), including experience with radioligand therapy
- General diagnostic radiology. Additional subspecialty fellowship training is welcomed and will be viewed favorably but is not required.
Our division performs a high volume of oncologic PET/CT and provides comprehensive nuclear medicine practice, including cardiac imaging, molecular imaging for neurologic disease, general nuclear medicine, and an expanding theranostics program. UAMS is proud to be recognized as an SNMMI Comprehensive Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence Faculty have opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary clinical care, resident and fellow education, and clinical trials.
UAMS offers outstanding collaborative research opportunities through partnerships with the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the Myeloma Center, and the Department of Biomedical Informatics, with growing programs in artificial intelligence, molecular imaging, and radiopharmaceutical therapy.
The Division currently consists of three full-time Nuclear Medicine faculty and supports approximately 40 residents and fellows across ACGME-accredited training programs. UAMS was among the first institutions in the nation to successfully implement and fill the combined Diagnostic Radiology/16-month Nuclear Medicine residency pathway.
Our imaging facilities include:
- Two PET/CT scanners
- Two SPECT/CT imaging systems
- Three gamma cameras
- Two therapy rooms
- Expanding outpatient PET/CT service
- A planned on-campus cyclotron and radiochemistry facility to support next-generation PET imaging and theranostics
The Department of Radiology is home to nationally recognized faculty across Body Imaging, Breast Imaging, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Neuroradiology, Pediatric Radiology, Emergency Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Interventional Neuroradiology, and Imaging Sciences, providing a highly collaborative academic environment.
