Practice Setting

• Mix of inpatient and outpatient psychiatry

Schedule

• Monday through Friday coverage, 40 hours per week
• Day shift options include 8a to 4p or 9a to 5p
• Four day schedules are not available for this assignment
• No call requirements

Cases and Procedures

• Direct psychiatric care to assigned patients
• Psychiatric, physical, and neurological examinations
• Participation in due process proceedings for voluntary admission and compelled psychoactive medication
• General population custody levels G1 and G2

Workload

• Approximately 100 encounters per month
• Typical day runs about 12 to 16 patients
• Adults only, male patients only

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Board Certified in Psychiatry, or Board Eligible within 5 years
• Active Texas license required, facility will not wait for licensure
• Clean background required
