Description
The Front Desk Medical Receptionist / Medical Biller serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, providers, referral sources, and community partners while also supporting accurate billing, insurance verification, claims submission, payment posting, and revenue cycle follow-up. This role requires excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to manage both front-office and billing responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Requirements
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and professionally with patients, families, providers, insurance representatives, and coworkers.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy when entering patient, insurance, scheduling, and billing information.
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a busy front-office environment.
Working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, eligibility verification, copays, deductibles, claims, denials, and patient billing processes.
Ability to use electronic health record systems, practice management software, payer portals, phone systems, scanners, fax systems, email, and Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of HIPAA confidentiality requirements and ability to handle sensitive patient and financial information with discretion.
Professional appearance, dependable attendance, punctuality, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
Ability to identify problems, ask appropriate questions, escalate concerns, and follow through to resolution.
