| Job Summary | The DLAR Floor Care Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of facility flooring and assigned areas within DLAR facilities. This position performs specialized floor care for both hard surface and carpeted areas, including stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet extraction, and bonnet cleaning in offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, restrooms, laboratories, and other public or clinical spaces. The technician performs daily custodial services within assigned zones, including general cleaning, waste and recycling removal, and sanitation of various building surfaces. Duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining restrooms and common areas. The position is responsible for restocking restroom and sanitation supplies such as paper products, soap, and sanitizer. This role operates and maintains custodial equipment including vacuums, floor machines, and other cleaning tools to ensure efficient and safe completion of duties. The technician maintains appropriate inventory levels of cleaning supplies and requests replenishment as needed. The DLAR Floor Care Technician ensures all assigned areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition and remain free of debris. The position demonstrates strong customer service when interacting with internal and external customers and adheres to established quality standards, procedures, and inspection requirements. The technician follows all safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), appropriate cleaning chemicals, and cautionary signage. All work is performed in compliance with applicable safety codes and regulatory standards, including OSHA, EPA, and institutional policies. |
