Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed, certified, non-physician healthcare practitioner who provides direct patient care through evaluation, follow-up examinations, diagnostic assessments, and monitoring medications under the supervision and direction of a licensed physician.
Essential Skills and Functions
Clinical:
- Provide patient centered clinical care in an in person and telemedicine setting
- Knowledge of current clinical practices and standards
- Document encounters appropriately in EMR system (eCW)
- Maintain current knowledge of medical procedures and treatment, including participating in professional development activities and maintaining professional affiliations.
- Functions independently to perform a broad range of services including, but not limited to the following:
- Patient assessment
- Diagnosing and treating health conditions
- Developing treatment plans
- Prescribe medications appropriately
- Patient education
- Hormone Replacement
- Therapy to include BioTe Pellets
Teamwork:
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and patient family members
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information, following strict security and HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work effectively with other team members including:
- Physician
- Clinic Management
- Clinical Staff
- Outside Business Partners
Qualifications
- Proven work experience in an out-patient primary care practice setting
- Current APRN Texas licensure
- Must be credentialed or eligible for credentialing with Medicare and major commercial insurance plans
- Experience with hormone replacement therapy, including BioTe pellets
- Experience with eCW
- Ability to exercise high degree of initiative, clinical judgment, discretion and decision-making.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Fluent in English
Job Location: Frisco, TX
Job Type: Part-time
Hours: 2 days per week; 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Wednesdays and Fridays.
Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a primary care setting.
Education
- MSN from accredited school of nursing
- Valid NP license in the state of Texas
- Valid CPR certification
