Texas Elks Camp
Company Overview
Texas Elks Camp provides special needs and foster children an opportunity to try new things, meet new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. Campers are encouraged to make their own decisions, become more independent and accept new challenges.
Any child with special needs or in foster care age 7 to 16, who is a resident of the state of Texas is eligible for admission to the Texas Elks Camp. No child is denied acceptance on the basis of his or her income level, ethnic origin, race, creed, color or religion. There is no fee. Campers are accepted on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
Company History
Texas Elks Children's Services, Inc. is a 501c3 organization that administers the Texas Elks State Association's two major state projects. The first of the programs is Texas Elks Camp, which was started in 1987. The second program is Grants for Special Children. This program provides grant money for special needs children in Texas to have adaptive or assistive devices such as, prosthetic devices, hearing aids, telephonic equipment, wheel chairs, and other items deemed necessary by medical professionals. TECSI is operated by a board of directors, elected from eight districts, that represent the Elks of Texas. Both of these projects are made possible by the Sweethearts from Texas Elks Lodges, and Texas Elks Endowment, Inc.
