Job Description Summary:
The Data Governance Analyst (DGA)will work with business owners across the organization in facilitating cross functional team engagement. The Data Governance Analyst will determine best practices in bringing an enterprise data governance mindset to create and adhere to data usage and quality standards. As a Data Governance Analyst you are expected to help the organization take the right next step in being able to deliver enterprise analytics in the form of ‘trusted data’ insights.
Competencies that are paramount to Data Governance Analyst success include ability to translate business users requests into data governance requirements, source analysis and data stewardship evangelization to help improve enterprise data maturity. The Data Governance Analyst is expected to thrive in an entrepreneurial agile scrum environment. As a Data Governance Analyst you must exude professionalism with the Informatics team and especially abroad with executive management, senior leadership, data stewards and our user community to help implement and adhere to data governance best practices.
KPA 1 – Data Governance
- Collaborates with data stewards throughout the business to collaboratively determine the FCS data standards
- Implementation and utilization of a cloud data governance tool (e.g. Informatica, etc.) for business glossary, data catalog, metadata management, reference/master data management, data cleansing and product offering inventory management.
KPA 2 – Data Source Analysis
- Uses forensic informatics to be able to independently research, reconcile and work within the business to determine actual source information (e.g. application, database excel spreadsheet, meeting, email, etc.) and be able to offer recommendations for improvement.
KPA 3 – Reference & Master Data Management
- Collaborates with data stewards to understand, analyze complex data systems, define and ensure key data element transformations, mappings, business rules (e.g. clinics, offices, charge description master (CDM) to line of business (LOB), employees to LOB, relative value units (RVUs), insurance matrix, etc.) and hierarchies are established.
KPA 4 – Data Integration Requirements
- Authors source to target (STM) mappings, requirements traceability matrix (RTM) and match/merge rules for execution by data engineering with associated quality assurance standards to create trusted data.
- Conducts data profiling, data aggregation, mapping, reference data and data governance evangelization activities to educate non-data minded colleagues of domain with superb communication skills to professionally articulate the high stakes associated with getting the data right.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Core Capabilities:
- Technical aptitude and understanding of databases, data warehouse, and reporting technologies
- Understanding of clinical data and data quality needs in ambulatory oncology setting.
- Work closely with Informatics leadership and business stakeholders to coordinate the development of Informatics products that will grow the business.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
- Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
- Profound competency in SQL required.
