Nuclear Medicine Assistant Professor
An initial appointment of Assistant Professor may be offered to an individual who has the qualifications for that rank, with the approval of the Dean. While serving as an Assistant Professor, an individual is expected to demonstrate significant development and make substantial contributions to his or her area(s) of academic medicine. An individual’s probationary period (tenure clock) begins at the time of appointment or promotion to the rank of Assistant Professor on one of the three tenure-eligible pathways.
The ideal candidate should have experience in performing targeted radionuclide therapy or interested in this treatment procedure. Our goal is to provide efficient delivery of health care in addition to our education-oriented program. The candidate would be highly involved in residency and fellow training and will be involved in multidisciplinary conferences.
Our clinical practice includes a high volume of PET/CT and a busy nuclear medicine service with a full range of therapeutic procedures, cardiac nuclear medicine, and general diagnostic nuclear imaging. The Division affords excellent opportunities for research, deriving especially from our strong collaborative relationships with the Department of Biomedical Informatics, the Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Institute, and the Myeloma Institute. The Division has four full-time Nuclear Medicine specialists, with 40 residents and fellows in ACGME-approved categories. We were among the first programs in the country to list and fill a combined diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine residency. Our facilities include 5 gamma cameras, SPECT/CT, and 2 PET/CT scanners. Our radiology faculty offer expertise across key divisions including Body Imaging, Breast Imaging, Body MRI/MSK, Interventional Neuroradiology, Interventional Radiology, Neuroradiology, Radiology Sciences and Pediatric Radiology.
