Surgical Pediatric Epileptologist, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital
The division of Pediatric Epilepsy and Neurology at the University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Surgical Pediatric Epileptologist to join our world-class clinical and academic team. We collaborate very closely with the Adult Epilepsy Center at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in the areas of epilepsy surgery, education, and research. We are recognized for excellence in epilepsy care, particularly in epilepsy surgery, seizure semiology, and epilepsy informatics. Our team is composed of leading experts in the field, all of whom hold academic positions at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). In addition, there are exceptional opportunities for research collaboration with CWRU's Neurosciences, School of Medicine, and Biomedical Engineering departments. The Pediatric Epilepsy Program is committed to advancing clinical, educational, and research initiatives, and we are looking for an individual who will contribute to the growth and development of these programs. The epileptologist will participate in the nationally recognized Epilepsy Fellowship Program at UH CMC, with five ACGME-accredited fellowship positions each year, Postdoctoral Epilepsy Scholarship Program (5-10 international physicians), and Child Neurology Training Program. Additionally, the pediatric epileptologist will participate as an instructor at the UH CMC Adult Epilepsy Center-hosted, biennial International EEG/Epilepsy Course, and as a speaker at the Epilepsy Grand Rounds yearly.
Key Responsibilities: -Presentation of presurgical patients at the combined adult and pediatric epilepsy surgery management conference. -Presurgical evaluation, invasive instigation, including electrical stimulation utilizing subdural grids and/or intracerebral electrodes. -Interpretation of VEEG, routine EEGs of neonates, children, and adults during epilepsy on-call weeks. -Support, develop and expand the clinical, educational, and research programs of the Pediatric Epilepsy Program. -Participate in the training and mentorship of child and adult neurology residents and epilepsy fellows. -Collaborate with adult and pediatric epilepsy faculty in research and academic initiative

Requirements
Qualifications: -Board-certified or board-eligible in Child Neurology and Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology. -Completion of an Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship (with at least one year of fellowship training at an Epilepsy Center). -Experience (during or post-training) in epilepsy surgery and neurophysiology is MANDATROY. -Applicants at the Assistant Professor level or within 5 years since completion of fellowship is preferred. -Strong interest in both clinical care and academic collaboration.
