- Ultrasound Sonographer - OB/GYN
Description
Seeking a full-time OBGYN sonographer for a busy practice in beautiful Tallahassee, FL! Excellent position with competitive salary and great benefit package. Position has high potential for career growth and development for the right candidate. May also consider part-time to start.
Job Experience: Licensed andproficient in obstetrical and gynecological (both abdominal and transvaginal) imaging; Knowledge of performing 3D/4D ultrasounds. Experienced preferred but will also consider new graduates.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Performs high quality basic and comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound imaging exams in accordance with established AIUM and ACOG guidelines and protocols under the supervision of the OB/GYN physicians.
Operates ultrasound equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, and documentation of images to record anatomic, pathologic, and physiologic data for interpretation by the physician.
Exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of the diagnostic exam
Independently operating ultrasound equipment to produce images that are of diagnostic quality, evaluating the acquired images and communicating findings with the physician(s) and/or medical professional(s).
Perform appropriate QA procedures, and practice a high level of medical ethics.
Facilitates diagnostic results by obtaining, reviewing, and bringing together pertinent patient history, physical examination and supporting clinical data.
Comforts patients by explaining procedures; assisting patient in proper positioning.
Ensures the ultrasound images produced are properly stored and reported on. Maintains equipment and software by following operating instructions; performing quality control checks of equipment; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance procedures; backing up computer software and data; calling for repairs and information technology support.
Utilize the practice’s EMR and PACS systems for proper acquisition of images, reporting and physician, staff & patient communication.
Education/License: Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Required. Associate Degree or successful graduation from an accredited ultrasonography program. Current licensure by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
Requirements
Successful completion of an accredited ultrasonography program
Must be licensed and certified in ultrasonography through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and PACS
Basic life support (BLS) and medical terminology
Ability to demonstrate excellent patient care and possess/express high emotional intelligence.
Maintain complete confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to operate basic office equipment.
