Description

documents related to programs
6. Demonstrates the ability to hire, train and supervise program staff and
volunteers
7. Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks, with attention to detail
and limited supervision
8. Demonstrates knowledge of inventory, ordering, maintenance, and
accountability for all program related materials and supplies
9. Demonstrates knowledge of office procedures, methods, and equipment,
including computers and applicable technology
10. Demonstrates ability to evaluate effectiveness of programs and services, modifying
as needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops, coordinates, and implements sports programs in accordance with
community needs under the direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation
2. Schedules, organizes, and directs programs
3. Screens, interviews, and recommends hiring of program staff
4. Coordinates programs with outside groups and agencies on-site and in
surrounding communities
5. Produces manuals, rules and regulations, program, and instructional guides, and
other appropriate communications related to effective community recreation
programs
6. Accounts for purchase and inventory of equipment and fee receipts
7. Enforces health and safety requirements related to programs and facilities
8. Develops and maintains positive public relations, advertising, and promotion of
Parks and Recreation programs
9. Attends meetings, trainings, and other related events as assigned by the
Director of Community Education and Recreation Services
10. Coordinates assigned programs and special events as assigned by the Director of
Parks and Recreation Services
11. Assumes responsibility for timecards of assigned part-time employees
12. Works with other recreation specialists to meet community needs in all
program areas
13. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with co-workers, and interact with colleagues in a professional manner
14. Provides continuous program evaluation to improve and enhance program quality
15. Establishes schedules and conducts program staff training
16. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with co-workers, and interact with colleagues in a professional manner

18. Incorporates legal rights and due process for children with special needs

Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field
Experience:
1. Management of youth and/or adult recreation experience preferred
Certificates/Licenses:
1. Current Colorado driver’s license
2. Certification in first aid and CPR
