Position Summary:
Are you an HR or People Operations professional who thrives on building strong relationships and navigating challenging conversations with confidence and empathy? Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is seeking an experienced and passionate People Operations Business Partner to join our growing team.
In this role, you will partner closely with leaders to align people strategies with business objectives, ensuring a positive and high-performing workplace culture. You will serve as a trusted advisor, supporting both employees and leadership across our partner hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
Align people strategy with overall business goals
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, training, development, and offboarding
Oversee internal people operations, leave administration, and employee relations
Provide guidance and enforce company policies, procedures, and best practices
Support performance management and organizational development initiatives
Partner with leadership to drive engagement and retention
This role also offers a front-row seat to the organization’s growth. You will play an active role in supporting merger and acquisition activities, contributing directly to integration efforts and the successful expansion of Rarebreed Veterinary Partners.

This is a hybrid position that requires the ability and willingness to travel. The role is based in the Northeast, with a strong preference for candidates located in the New England area. It offers flexibility for both remote and in-office work, depending on proximity and business needs. We are open to eligible candidates located within the United States.
What You’ll Do:
Serve as a trusted People Operations partner to hospital leaders, providing best-in-class support to help teams operate effectively and deliver exceptional patient care
Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding guidance, employee relations, performance management, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
Administer and execute HR programs related to compensation, leave, talent management, engagement, safety, and training
Respond to employment-related inquiries, escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate
Maintain and optimize the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, system integrity, and continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, updating policies and practices as needed
Track and manage required training, certifications, licensure, and continuing education
Partner with Field Operations leaders to identify opportunities for improvement, implement training plans, and enhance employee performance and engagement. Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to proactively support the organization.

The target annual hiring range for this position is $85,000 – $100,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.

Experience with Paylocity payroll/HRIS platform is a plus

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent professional experience required
At least five years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
Experience working across multiple locations and supporting multi-state teams preferred
Experience in specialty/emergency veterinary medicine setting strongly preferred
Ability to travel approximately 10%
