Interventional Cardiologist – Bon Secours, Coastal Virginia (Hampton Roads/Tidewater Region)

Bon Secours Medical Group, a leading integrated health system in the beautiful Hampton Roads region of Virginia, is expanding our Cardiovascular team and seeking a Full-Time Interventional Cardiologist to meet the growing needs of our community. This is an exciting opportunity to practice advanced, high-quality cardiac care while living in one of the most desirable coastal areas on the East Coast.
Position Overview
As an Interventional Cardiologist with Bon Secours, you’ll serve patients across two modern practice locations — Harbour View/North Suffolk and Norfolk/Ghent — and play a vital role in providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to an expanding patient base.
You’ll work within a collegial, multidisciplinary team known for clinical excellence, compassionate care, and a strong culture of collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide STEMI coverage and interventional call as part of a collaborative, well-balanced rotation (currently 1:5).
- Perform hospital rounding and manage ambulatory clinic patients with support from experienced APCs, CMAs, and PSRs.
- Interpret and supervise cardiac testing, including echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests, and EKGs.
- Perform Coronary and Peripheral Vascular Interventions, including High-Risk PCI and Impella-supported cases.
- Participate in Structural Heart procedures (opportunities available and encouraged).
- Collaborate closely with a dedicated pacemaker clinic and PT/INR ancillary services.
- Engage in teaching and mentorship opportunities with medical students and residents.
Qualifications
- Fellowship-trained Interventional Cardiologist with Nuclear and Echocardiography reading experience.
- Proficient in Cardiac Cath and non-invasive vascular interpretation.
- Preferably 3–5+ years of post-fellowship experience in a high-volume practice.
- Completion of a U.S.-based residency program required.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified (ABIM/ABMS) in Interventional and General Cardiology.
- Eligible for an unrestricted Virginia medical license.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship at this time).
Schedule & Practice Details
- Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Average daily census: ~25 adult/geriatric patients
- Call: 1:5 rotation with defined STEMI coverage (Weekdays 5:00 PM–7:00 AM; Weekends Fri 5:00 PM–Mon 7:00 AM)
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC (with MyChart for virtual care)
- Strong team support including experienced advanced practice clinicians, clinical staff, and practice management.
- Mentorship from senior cardiologists and leadership opportunities as the program grows.
