Job Purpose: The Human Resources Director is responsible for the supervision of the administration of all Human Resource functions and serves as a strategic partner for business leadership.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Manages and updates employee records in the HRIS to ensure data accuracy and compliance
2. Prepares and maintains employee handbook and personal policies and procedures manual, administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
3. Handles handling employee relations counseling, and participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems as needed.
4. Oversees and audits the payroll system. Ensure all payroll processes are fully documented. Verifies that all personnel forms and reports are completed and distributed to the appropriate party(s) by all required deadlines.
5. Performs Staff recruiting and activities to ensure that all business needs are being met and works with management to evaluate the correct staffing levels
6. Maintains knowledge & competency in the payroll process to back up the payroll & benefits specialist when they are out of the office.
7. Work with EHS Manager to ensure that the Worker’s Compensation claims process is being performed in a timely manner.
8. Supervises Human Resources, IT, and EHS personnel, and reviews labor reports for HR personnel. Assist the Logistics Manager with oversight of the Logistics department personnel.
9. Assists EHS Manager with administering the Return-to-Work Program.
10. Works to maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure company compliance with Federal and State Regulations.
11. Reviews all personnel evaluations to prepare for compensation reviews.
12. Reviews department processes and identifies opportunities for efficiency and accuracy improvements. Analyze the opportunities, scopes and prioritize projects, work with team members to implement solutions/improvements, and define measurables/KPIs to determine that the desired results were achieved.
13. Completes Unemployment Insurance Notices and submits to KDOL and represents the company relative to these claims
14. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory; develops and maintains affirmative action program and filing annual EEO-1 report.
15. Audits the company’s HR processes, manages and directs all disciplinary action procedures, and performs employment terminations.
16. Implements, updates, and administers compensation program, rewrites job descriptions as necessary, monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
17. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy and applicable legal standards; prepares the appropriate documents as well as the Performance Improvement Plans (PIP). Enter completed/signed documents into HRMS and file in personnel filing. Give documents for terminated employees to the HR Generalist for processing.
18. Coordinate new-hire orientation schedule with EHS Manager and HR Generalist.
19. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
20. Manages DOT and Corporate drug testing Program.
21. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate.
22. Attends necessary educational seminars/training.
23. Maintains confidentiality
24. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources or Business Management plus a minimum of 5 years experience in the relevant field OR 10+ years Human Resource Management experience.
2. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to customers, coworkers, and management, with the ability to provide public speaking and customer presentations as needed.
4. Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced work environment.
5. Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, procedure manuals and job instructions with basic problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
7. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
8. Ability to operate computer and computer software, to include Microsoft Office products.
9. Ability to use department equipment.
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
