South Carolina Manufacturing/Distribution/Retail company specializing in the building and construction material market located near Columbia, SC is seeking a financial controller to join our team, replacing the current controller of twenty years retiring mid-2026. Controller will stay on for HR and payroll processing an additional 12- 18 months. The 70 year-old company with 90 employees is still owned/operated by third generation family. A strategic plan is in place to grow from current $20M annual sales to $30M. Successful candidate will have at least 10+ years’ experience growing a company 7-10% per annum, communicating financial information through both custom reports and verbal instruction to diverse workforce. Identifying and completing cost saving/efficiency driven projects is a must to stay competitive and maximize owners’ ROI. Accounting department is lean, but efficient. Be prepared to perform all accounting functions required with yourself and 1 FTEs. Experience with Data Pro Accounting software a plus. Four-year accounting degree is required. Compensation commensurate with verifiable experience, track record of long-term employment, and adaptability to company culture. Requirements
Report writing skills with third party report writing software
Ability to work through accounts to create departments and generate reports for department leaders for management decisions.
Generate and verify sales reports for sales people and departements.
Confidence to handle all of accounting responsibilities while managing cash flow and advising on Inventory growth and shrinkage.
Ability to work onsite in Kershaw County South Carolina 5 days a week.
Comfortable with Accrual based accounting in a General ledger accounting software.
Manage AR/AP clerk.
