Position Information

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience working with UGA systems; Experience coordinating schedules and working with research projects.
Position Summary
Position will support the administrative needs of research center directorship, coordinators, research staff, affiliated PIs, and students. Daily tasks include making purchases within UGAmart, obtaining proper approvals, maintaining director's calendar, and tracking purchases. Additional tasks include assisting the center coordinator with daily tasks such as coordinating meetings, creating agendas, and correspondence with other UGA staff and affiliates.
This position is grant funded, expected to end five years after the project start date in 2023. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Capable of communicating clearly for efficient understanding
- Competent working with UGA financial and purchasing platforms
- Able to quickly pick-up academic and research related support tasks such as grant writing and submission protocols, CV formatting and editing
- Adaptable and able to troubleshoot changes in university systems and processes

Duties/Responsibilities
Complete all purchasing required by individual research projects, center, and staff, including PIs, from initiation to completion, including corresponding with the finance team responsible for approvals.
Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
Manage the center newsletter and simple updates to the website, updating and creating content as needed, and troubleshooting.
Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist PIs, staff, and students in processing travel and expense reports.
Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities
Manage PI and center calendars and schedules, including reserving rooms, and managing correspondence scheduling meetings.

Assist with editing and drafting as requested by PIs and center coordinator.

Meetings with center personnel and grant teams for updates, project understanding and planning, job oversight.
