Position Summary
Art Handler providing general support for the Division of Collections and Exhibitions, specializing in matting and framing as follows:
Duties include art handling, such as moving, hanging, or otherwise installing works of art. Assists with in-house matting and framing of works of art in the permanent collection and loaned objects. Under the supervision of the Director of Exhibitions, this position works closely with museum curators and registrars in the preparation, movement, and installation of art throughout the museum. Assists with packing and unpacking works of art for travel. Reports to the Director of Exhibitions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Knowledge of archival matting and framing practices.
- Knowledge of museum art handling practices.
- Valid GA driver's license or have the ability to obtain one.

Duties/Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Exhibitions with matting and framing works of art in the permanent collection with a special emphasis on the Daura collection. Assists with packing and unpacking works of art for travel, inventorying and stocking supplies, and organizing of the work areas.

Assists the Pierre Daura Curator of European Art with pulling and returning works of art from storage, matting and framing works on paper according to museum industry archival methods and standards, building storage boxes according to museum industry archival methods and standards. Also assist with rehousing and moving of material of the Daura archives.
