| Job Summary | In this position, the candidate will provide pharmaceutical care to patients requiring Specialty and non-specialty medications through the UK Specialty Pharmacy in accordance with accreditation standards and contractual obligations. Responsibilities include serving as the primary liaison between UK Specialty Pharmacy and UK's ambulatory clinics; ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy is implemented for all patients under their care and monitoring care appropriately; facilitating the formulary review process for specialty and non-specialty medications; participating in appropriate hospital and/or departmental committees relevant to practice area; and establishing safe practices for infusion therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients. Also responsible for supervising PharmD students, technicians, undergraduate and graduate student teaching, and providing educational programs for hospital staff. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Strong clinical and decision-making skills, organized, strong attention to detail, teamwork, excellent communication skills, time management skills, strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated customer service skills. Electronic Medical Record experience, Pharmacy operating system experience. |
